Welcome to a brand-new series I’m cooking up. And for anyone why I’m naming this series Scuffed Review, this isn’t going to be a weekly series, but when I have the time, I can whip up a quick review or two just for the heck of it.
The Vibeometer
For anyone who is wondering on how I will be reviewing my experiences, (Food, attending live games, etc.) I will rate solely on the vibes that I get using the Vibeometer, which will measure how much of a vibe this gives me and for reference, here is all of the rankings and their general value on a 5-star system.

Now do note, although these are the most common rankings, that doesn’t excuse me from making my own rankings just because I can. Now without further procrastination, the first review.
Something Something Jersey Shore
When it comes to the Jersey Shore, I’m practically connected at the hip to it. I’ve practically lived in Seaside Heights, even though I usually came on vacation such as with the focus of this blog, as I am currently at Seaside, so I decided to review all of the food I get while I’m here.
There be saws in them mills
The Sawmill is a Seaside Heights institution, being the only building on the south end of the boardwalk that survived Superstorm Sandy and the fire that followed after it. So with the weather being very windy today, Me, My Father and Ben went to The Sawmill and just got some appetizers for a light lunch.
Cheese Balls

Ah yes, the humble cheeseball, the mozzarella sticks American cousin. Cheese cubes battered and deep fried just speaks to me in a heavenly way, and so far I’ve found no cheese ball I didn’t like. Sawmills take adds a ranch dipping sauce with the coolness acting as a perfect compliment to the creamy bite of the cheese balls and can truly act as a good dunking base for a poppable bite. but in the end, what I’m trying to say is, I LOVE CHEESEBALLS!

Wow. First blog and we’re already breaking the scale, and speaking of poppable bites…
Hot Honey Chicken Bites

Hot honey is a tricky balance to make, too hot, it becomes unbearable, too sweet and you ask yourself, Is this really hot? However these chicken bites are spicy in a good way in which the sauce is hot but not stupid hot. although for me, it’s just a bit less hot for my tastes eating it straight up and I tended to balance with some good hits of ranch with it, which is a slight letdown for my intended spice range for the sauce.

Nachos

When it comes to Nachos, this is the most classic I’ve seen and had I’ve never had nachos before I would of liked it… Unfortunately, I’ve tasted better nachos than this and while the nachos were good, It just didn’t have that wow factor for me to truly rank it even higher than mid. There are many plates of nachos in the world but man, this isn’t one of the greats, it’s just mid.

The Lou Crew

Prior to 2020, the most I would get from a cheesesteak would be the local take using a kaiser roll, A.K.A pizza bread. However, in 2021 Cheesesteak Louie’s officially landed in The Boulevard region of Seaside Park finally bringing authentic philly cheesesteaks to the area, and since day one, I was hooked.

one of my most recent orders there was the Big Dave, Ribeye, your choice of cheese, although the standard is pepper jack, pork roll (not Taylor ham) and finished with french fries. essentially Louie’s equivalent to the Seaside Tony from Steaks Unlimited, however what sets Louies apart is that you get more bang for your buck. Each cheesesteak is absolutely loaded to the brim and I tend to pace myself to enjoy the delicious flavors for me. It’s nice to end the first blog on a high note and Cheesesteak Louie’s definitely hits a heavenly high note for me.
