And just like that, Fishkill Summer Hoops kicked off it’s season on Monday July 7th. Most definitely a challenging week in terms of weather for the games at Geering, but only a few games did not get played.
In the 3-4th Grade Boys Division, Teams 2 and 6 have jumped out of the gate winning both their games this week. Both teams pulled off 1 point victories to secure their perfect records heading into Week 2,
In the 4-5th Grade Boys Division, Teams 15,16, and 19 have eased their way to 2-0 records. That will change as the undefeated teams start playing each other.
In the 7th-8th Grade Boys Division, Teams 8 & 9 survived with 2-0 records through Week 1. Teams 7 & 12 are both 1-0 having their Opening Game fall victim to Mother Nature.
Some close games in the JV Division. Teams 26 and 28 finish Week 1 at 2-0, but played some close games to get there. A point differential of only 13 for Team 26 and 6 for Team 28 show that the JV Division might be the tightest of the summer.
Mother Nature was not nice to the High School Division. 2 games were either suspended or postponed. Regardless Teams 36 and 37 remain undefeated at 1-0, and Team 38 being involved in both games which were casualties of weather will look to finally play a game in Week 2.
In the Girls 3-5th Grade Division, Team 34 has done their part to jump off to a 2-0 lead in the divsion.
Can we give Team 31 a pass straight to the Girls 6-8 Championship Game? The team has a 2-0 record and a point differential of 30 thus far after two games.
Four weeks to go, and the drama’s just beginning.
